Welcome to our new Chair Gay Griffin. Gay is a mum to three children. She has been a school governor and has been responsible for several fund raising committees when her children were young. Gay is also a volunteer at the Carers Centre as well as being a full time Carer. She is friendly, bubbly, enthusiastic and caring and will make a brilliant Chair for PCAH (or soon to be Banes Parent Carer Forum) It is with sadness we have had to say goodbye to Lorraine, who has retired from the role of the PCAH Facilitator. We had a surprise farewell and thank you lunch for

Ofsted & CQC are inspecting B&NES Local Area for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We have been expecting this for sometime.
Tuesday (Day 2) 11.45am-1pm at the Community Space, Keynsham Library. This meeting needs to have as wide engagement of as possible.
Subject: LA SEND webinar – B&NES Council
From Monday 18 March to Friday 22 March 2019, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will carry out jointly an inspection of Bath and North East Somerset Council.
The inspection will evaluate how effectively the local area:
- identifies children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
- assesses and meets the needs of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
- improves outcomes for children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The inspection will also include an online webinar to allow other parents and carers in the Bath and North East Somerset Council area to contribute. The session will be available on demand, and we will ask parents and carers to share their views and experiences on how effectively the Bath and North East Somerset Council local area is fulfilling the above responsibilities. While we understand that many parents and carers may have views on their experience that extend before the implementation of the reforms in September 2014, it is important that this date is used as the start for gathering evidence about the impact of the reforms as part of our new inspections. We would also like parents and carers to understand that we will not be able to follow up or comment upon individual cases.
The webinar will be available on demand between Monday 11 March and Tuesday 19 March 2019. Please note this webinar can be re-accessed if additional time is required to make comment.
