Help shape a new parent carer forum for Bath and North East Somerset.
Are you the parent carer of a child or young person? Do they have additional needs?
WE NEED YOU!
Bath & North East Somerset (BATHNES) needs a new forum to represent the views of parent carers and improve services for children and young people with additional needs. You can help to shape it!
Find out more at a FREE and friendly 40-minute Zoom (online) event. 11 am or 7 pm on Thursday 8 July 2021 To book visit EventBrite.

Parent carer forums are independent groups run by parent carers. They work with the local authority and health as equal partners to help improve services for children and young people with additional needs and their families.
Every local authority area in England needs a parent carer forum. But at the moment there is no forum for Bath & North East Somerset (BATHNES). Contact is offering support to help parent carers access the Department of Education £17,500 grant to establish a forum for BATHNES (these grants are available in every local area).
Come and meet us at 11 am or 7 pm on 8 July 2021. Our guest speaker is Jacqui Watt, Chair of Swindon SEND Families Voice. Jacqui will chat about the Swindon forum was set up and how they have improved services like short breaks, school transport, and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
A lively local forum empowers you to help improve the services you need, introduces you to new friends and provides training to boost your skills and knowledge. Parent carer forums welcome all parent carers of children and young people with disabilities, special educational needs, health needs and other additional needs aged 0-25 years, whether diagnosed or not.
Book your place on either of the two available information events via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/d/online/parent-carers-bathnes/?page=1(you will not receive a meeting link to the Zoom session if you do not sign up via Eventbrite).
